The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join our team within a heavy plant manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment, with a primary focus on mechanical systems, to maximise uptime and ensure safe and efficient operations. We are looking for someone motivated by key engineering principles of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. Your focus will be on Early Equipment Management (EEM) in manufacturing and how this impacts Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), with the aim of improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant and production equipment
  • Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
  • Perform mechanical strip-downs, rebuilds, and component replacements
  • Support electrical fault finding when required
  • Minimise downtime through root cause analysis and effective problem solving
  • Assist in continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
