Currently recruiting a Head of Finance & College Accountant for our Cambridge based client. You will lead a high‑performing finance function and provide a full range of financial services across the organisation. Reporting into the Senior Bursar, you’ll take a senior‑leadership role, overseeing statutory and management accounting, strengthening financial controls and systems, and supporting longer‑term financial strategy. You’ll also manage and develop a finance team of eight and work closely with budget holders across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the finance team and day‑to‑day finance operations
  • Deliver statutory accounts, management accounts and high‑quality financial reporting
  • Own financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure effective controls, processes and compliance
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve financial insight and decision‑making

Qualifications

You will hold a recognised accountancy qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, have strong experience producing statutory accounts, charity/not-for‑profit experience preferred. Exposure to subsidiary statutory accounts, advanced Excel skills and proven people‑management experience and strong stakeholder communication.
