We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and delivery: an architect who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, building high-quality SQL and ETL solutions, and turning complex datasets into impactful Power BI dashboards that drive decision-making.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the design, optimisation, and ongoing evolution of a cloud-based Azure data estate.
Build and maintain SQL models, queries, and stored procedures to deliver accurate, performant datasets.
Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Python.
Create engaging Power BI dashboards using advanced DAX and Power Query/M.
Ensure strong governance and data quality standards, providing a trusted “single source of truth.”
Work with stakeholders across multiple functions to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a small BI team, encouraging best practice and continuous improvement.
Promote data literacy and adoption across the organisation, helping to embed data-driven culture.
What we’re looking for
Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, indexing, and performance tuning.
Proven experience with the Azure data stack (Data Factory, Data Lake Gen2, SQL MI, Power BI, Purview).
Strong Power BI skills (advanced DAX, Power Query/M).
Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL design, and relational database principles.
Proficiency with Python for automation and API integrations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a technical team.
Experience supporting M&A data workstreams (desirable).
