Credit Control Manager – Ipswich

Pure are seeking an experienced and motivated Credit Control Manager to lead the credit control function within a well-established and growing business based in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a key financial area, driving improvements, managing a dedicated team, and ensuring effective credit management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of credit controllers, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day credit control operations, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding debts.
  • Manage and resolve complex and escalated debtor issues, including the negotiation of repayment plans.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor aged debt, produce detailed reports, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow, reduce debtor days, and minimise risk of bad debt.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and operations teams to align credit control processes with wider business objectives.
  • Deliver clear reporting on performance against KPIs, highlighting trends and risks.

About You

  • Proven experience in a credit control management role, ideally within a fast‑paced or service‑led environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Confident in handling complex debtor accounts and resolving disputes effectively.
  • Skilled in reconciliations and experienced in managing supplier/vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commercially astute, results‑driven, and analytical in approach.
  • Proficient in credit control systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
