Due to continued expansion, our Essex based client is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take full ownership of our transactional finance operations and lead a small, high performing team.

As the Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transactional accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes. This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone with construction sector experience and the confidence to manage a busy finance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a small finance team, providing support, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee all transactional accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and financial records.
  • Manage month-end processes, journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve financial queries.
  • Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.
