I’m recruiting for a Tax Assistant to join a Private Client Trust & Probate team in Norwich. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous tax experience who wants to continue building their technical knowledge while working with an experienced team and a varied private client portfolio.

The role Working closely with experienced members of the team, you’ll support a portfolio of private clients across a broad range of tax matters, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of personal tax returns and tax computations
- Preparing rental income and basic self-employment income and expenditure accounts
- Drafting Capital Gains Tax computations and returns for senior review
- Preparing HMRC forms, tax elections and PAYE tax code amendments
- Supporting senior colleagues with wider tax advisory projects
- Liaising with clients, HMRC and other professional contacts
- Developing your understanding of clients and identifying opportunities where they may benefit from additional services
As your experience develops, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and continue building both your technical and client-facing skills.
About you Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience working within tax
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in taxation
- Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach
- Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong team-working and problem-solving skills
An ATT qualification would be advantageous, although it isn’t essential.
