Business Protection Adviser
Salary: Up to £50k basic + Uncapped Commission
Location: London (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in office)

Our client is well established, award winning private client and corporate advisory firm with a strong reputation for advising business owners, directors, and high-net-worth individuals on protecting what they've built. Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Business Protection Adviser, to specialise in areas such as Key Person Insurance, Shareholder / Partnership Protection, Relevant Life Insurance Policies, Loan Protection and Director Income Protection.
You'll be working with an established client bank and warm introducer network, advising business owners, directors, and partners on how to protect their companies from the financial impact of losing a key person to death or serious illness, covering everything from succession planning to debt protection.
Areas of advice:
- Key Person Insurance – protecting the business against the loss of a founder, director, or critical employee whose skills or relationships drive the company's success, covering lost profits, recruitment, and recovery costs
- Shareholder & Partnership Protection – ensuring surviving owners have the funds to buy back a deceased shareholder's stake, keeping ownership and control within the business (often paired with cross-option agreements)
- Relevant Life Policies – tax-efficient, company-paid life cover for individual directors and employees, with tax-free payouts to their families via trust
- Executive & Director Income Protection – replacing income for key individuals unable to work due to illness or injury, keeping salaries covered and the business stable
- Business Loan & Director's Loan Protection – ensuring outstanding business debts are repaid if a key person dies, protecting surviving partners and the company's finances
- Business Succession Planning – advising on the wider protection strategy that keeps a business solvent, stable, and correctly owned through unexpected change
Experience required:
- Proven experience as a Business Protection Adviser, Corporate IFA, or Protection Specialist
- Strong technical knowledge of key person insurance, shareholder protection, relevant life cover, executive income protection, and business succession planning
- Relevant industry qualifications (CII / Dip PFS or working towards)
- Comfortable advising business owners, directors, and high-net-worth individuals
- Confident building and maintaining introducer and referral relationships
