We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Sales Engineer to lead the growth of our heat pump solutions across the commercial sector. This role is heavily sales-oriented, with a strong emphasis on developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and delivering tailored technical solutions. You will combine your technical understanding of heat pump systems with a proactive sales approach to identify opportunities, influence decision-makers, and close high-value deals.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the commercial sector
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads
- Actively prospect through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to contract close
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and end clients
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to promote heat pump solutions
- Understand client requirements and position tailored solutions effectively
- Maintain long-term relationships to generate repeat business and referrals
- Provide technical guidance on commercial heat pump systems and applications
- Work closely with internal design and engineering teams to develop proposals
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, tenders, and quotations
- Translate technical concepts into clear commercial value for clients
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and incentives related to renewable heating
- Identify new markets, sectors, and partnership opportunities
- Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events
- Proven track record in B2B sales or business development, ideally within HVAC, renewables, or building services or within a technical discipline. Product training will be provided.
- Experience selling heat pumps or similar technical solutions is highly desirable
- Demonstrated success in generating and closing new business
- Strong commercial mindset with excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Solid technical understanding (or ability to quickly learn) of heat pump systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritise effectively
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented
- Degree, HND, or equivalent in Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
