Pure Renewables Commercial provides Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning services to the Renewables Energy Sector, helping clients decarbonise in line with local, national and global targets.
Responsible for the design and construction and/or commissioning of intermediate to large-size capital renewable projects. Uses formal project management methods to coordinate project team activities including defining the scope of work, scheduling, estimating and engineering. Manage costs and change control procedures and ensure project close-out and documentation processes are complete. Types of projects are situated within renewable energy sector with hands-on construction assignments in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Specific tasks and deliverables
- Works with the engineering team to develop renewable energy project scope and coordinates a team of specialists who provide project schedule, CAD design, cost estimates and engineering specifications for capital projects.
- Ensures the initiation and completion of engineering, design, installation, testing, commissioning into service and project closeout.
- Supports daily management of on-site construction activities, working with the principal contractor or multiple contractors and service providers.
- Responsible for renewable project expenditures and the cost-effective procurement of labour, equipment, and materials: coordinates with authorized company representatives in conducting bid meetings and reviews, supplier selections and evaluations; determines contracting strategy aligned with labour utilization strategies.
- Communicates renewable project status to all stakeholders. Engages appropriate stakeholders in decisions and ensures a clear understanding of direction and expectations.
- Responsible for meeting key performance metrics associated with project scope, schedule and budget.
- Manage and control project risks and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and other regulatory requirements.
- Interfaces with internal organizations, suppliers, general contractors, building trades and support contract administration services or vendors.
- Supports obtaining regulatory approval for the construction and operation of new renewable energy projects required.
- Ensures compliance with occupational health & safety, environmental and regulatory requirement identifying any risk implications, reporting these to Head of Operations.
- Complete monthly project reports for OH&S and environment.
- Ensures that the integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes are planned and implemented.
Key skills and experiences
- BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, minimum 2:1 classification.
- Project Management Qualification such as APM Project Management Level 7 desirable.
- Experience supporting large scale construction projects, ideally within the renewables energy sector or allied industries.
- Analytical skills to gather a wide range of data to present to various stakeholders.
- Effective stakeholder management skills gained within large scale projects.
- Effective communication skills to ensure internal/external stakeholder engagement.
