The Production Planner role… Produce and maintain production and packing plans that meet Pure Pet customer demand whilst optimising the factory capacity, inventory levels and service. This is a hands-on role which will balance demand forecasts, materials availability and manufacturing capacity constraints to ensure efficient, compliant and cost-effective operations within the site. Become a key part of the Pure Pet Foods operational team as we build our capability to serve an increasingly expanding healthy pet foods business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Production planning:
    • Develop short-, medium- and long-term production plans aligned to the customer demand from the Pure Pet customer website.
    • Translate forecasts and sales orders into daily and weekly production plans.
    • Sequence production runs to optimise packing line efficiency, minimise changeovers and manage allergens.
    • Plan labour and line capacity in collaboration with the manufacturing and packing team.
    • Monitor schedule adherence and replan proactively in response to changes in demand, material shortages, factory issues etc.
  • Systems, Data and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate planning data in the Pure Pet ERP system.
    • Track production performance against the plan and identify root cause of variance.
    • Production planning and capacity reports to support operational and commercial decision making.
    • Support continuous improvement of planning processes and leverage system usage.
  • Cross functional collaboration:
    • Working closely with a Materials Planner, act as the key link between Manufacturing, Commercial/Marketing and Quality.
    • Communicate plans, changes and supply risks clearly to the operational team.

Our qualifications & experience expectations are:

  • Essential:
    • Experience in production planning or scheduling within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing and packing processes.
    • Experience using ERP/MRP planning systems.
    • High level of data accuracy and analytical capability.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Desirable:
    • Understanding food safety standards and traceability requirements.
    • Experience planning multiple SKUs with varying pack formats.
    • Familiarity with capacity planning and forecasting processes.
