We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join our growing Digital Product Team in a Senior QA Test role. You will play a key part in ensuring all in-house development meets our high standards across design, development, and user experience.

The ideal candidate will be keen to champion best-practice testing processes and help drive Pure forward in areas such as automation, stability, load testing, and other non-functional testing disciplines, ensuring our platforms and services continue to operate reliably and at scale. Above all, we are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about quality assurance, has exceptional attention to detail, and is eager to help the QA function grow in influence and stature within the business. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an ambitious team, with plenty of scope to develop, learn, and progress your career.

A bit about the role… We pride ourselves on creating exceptional experiences for our customers. As part of our Digital Product Team, you will be responsible for testing our development output from both a functional and visual perspective. This role places strong emphasis on the overall product experience, as well as the underlying functionality. You will ensure that everything is pixel-perfect, works seamlessly across devices, and feels like a product we would be proud to put in front of our customers. The ideal candidate will have some experience or understanding of UX and/or UI design, with high standards for quality and usability. You should be comfortable putting yourself in the customer’s shoes and regularly asking, “If I had to use this, would I be happy with it?”

A key part of this role will be helping to establish Pure’s journey into automated testing. As we continue to grow, it is vital that new products and features do not negatively impact existing services. We are aiming to build a best-in-class automated testing approach, and the successful candidate will play a leading role in shaping, guiding, and driving this forward.

Key responsibilities:

  • Functional and non-functional testing of all in-house development, taking ownership of test approach, coverage, and risk assessment across features, platforms, and services.
  • Logging, documenting, and tracking defects through to resolution, including prioritisation based on risk and impact, and working with teams to ensure issues are clearly understood and resolved effectively.
  • Providing QA input during project discovery, planning, and refinement, helping shape requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical approaches with quality and testability in mind from the outset.
  • Implementing and maintaining automated test suites, setting direction for what should be automated, ensuring tests provide meaningful coverage, and aligning automation with CI/CD and release processes.
  • Improving overall product quality by working collaboratively with developers, sharing insights, patterns, and feedback to help teams prevent issues earlier and continuously improve delivery outcomes.
  • Mentoring and supporting other QA team members, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback to help grow individual capability and overall QA maturity.
  • Acting as a senior QA voice within the team, influencing decisions around quality, risk, and release readiness, and confidently challenging where standards are at risk.
  • Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering, ensuring quality, usability, and customer experience are considered throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, not just at test time.
  • Working with the Head of Digital Product to implement and continuously improve best-practice Agile ways of working, supporting consistent, high-quality delivery through effective ceremonies, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Proposing and driving new working methods, tools, and strategies, with a focus on improving both short- and long-term system quality, stability, and team effectiveness.

A bit about you…

A key attribute for the successful candidate is to be enthusiastic about your role, with a desire to deliver the best quality and a desire to make changes to achieve this. You’ll show passion for software testing, with a desire to grow further in the role, constantly learning and wanting to improve. You’ll need a hawk-eye, with incredibly strong attention to detail and a desire to achieve perfection. You’ll need to demonstrate a strong background and experience in improving overall software quality. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects at the same time. You will want to own your product, taking accountability and responsibility for its quality, feeling confident to demo new features or products to key stakeholders within the business. You must be able to work collaboratively, adjusting your approach to work well with different teams. Show experience working in, and delivering within an agile environment. A passion to deliver an excellent product experience. Strong experience with test automation and test software (Cypress, Postman, SoapUI). Familiarity with GIT and Cloud Platforms. You need to be an excellent communicator, within your team and to project stakeholders or management.
