RK Marine is the South Coast’s Volvo Penta main dealer as well as a marine engineering company, committed to serving the commercial and leisure marine industries and their products and services, which include engine sales, boat engine repairs, parts sales and a range of boat yard services. RK Marine is looking for an exceptionally experienced administrator to join their busy Engineering Department at their boat yard operation in Swanwick, Southampton. This position is wide-ranging and demanding, but at the same time very satisfying and enjoyable.
The role:
- Dealing directly with customers
- Scheduling weekly engineering operations
- Preparing and issuing estimates
- Working closely with Technicians (purchasing and preparing parts for the engineering jobs, managing labour times)
- Supervising PPE, consumable and clothing
- Assisting Engineering Manager with issuing and payments of invoices and deposits
- Arranging services and MOTs for the company vans.
The person:
- Brilliant administrative and customer services background is required (technical parts sale, knowledge of engines and their components or engineering background is desirable but not essential).
- Magnificent problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise jobs and experience in working within a very busy environment.
- Methodical and resourceful team player with a structured approach to work.
- Organised individual with perfect verbal and written skills, great telephone manner and good IT skills.
- Familiarity with using a computerised stock control system would be an advantage (although full training on RK Marine’s system will be given).
This position is a fantastic opportunity to join an already successful team in a modern quality working environment. RK Marine is offering 28 days of paid holidays per year, on-site parking and Company Pension Scheme contribution after 3 months of service. Please note, your working hours will be 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 4.30pm on Friday as well as 9.00am to 12.00 one Saturday every 3 weeks.
