Fire and Security Systems Experts
Our Client, Lee Fire & Security Ltd is a flagship company within the New Path Fire & Security Ltd group of companies. For the last 43 years, they have been keeping businesses and homes nationwide safe from fire, theft and intrusion, offering a wide range of fire and security products to suit a variety of their customer’s needs.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a commercially minded and ambitious Finance Assistant to assist the Managing Director in supporting the business in its growth.
Finance Assistant, the role:
· Working alongside the Director of Finance to develop the finance function, improving management information reporting
· Overseeing Accounts Payable using advanced AI character recognition technology
· Conducting weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Ensuring accurate posting and management of expense creditors/accounts payable
· Reconciling intercompany accounts and generate sales invoices
· Credit Control – following up on overdue sales invoices
· Managing petty cash and staff expenses
· Assisting with general accounting tasks and month-end reporting
· Investigating budget vs. actual variances
· Supporting the Finance team with ad hoc cost & revenue analysis projects
Finance Assistant, the person:
· AAT Level 3 or 4 qualifications required or equivalent experience
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with good technical accounting skills
· Experience with accounting software (preferably Xero)
· Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
· Excellent attention to detail and numerical confidence
· Strong time management and organizational abilities
· Capable of working independently and under pressure
· Tech-savvy, ideally with experience in credit control tasks.
· Strong people skills and be able to build effective relationships quickly
