Our client, Queensland Bakery Co., manufactures and supplies sweet baked treats for retail, out of home consumption, food service and wholesale. With over 100 years of baking experience, their delicious ranges of white label and branded baked treats have satisfied generations of hungry customers.

They are now looking for an experienced and passionate Trainee Maintenance Technician to join their family bakery business in Andover, Hampshire. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining their specialised baking equipment and ensuring smooth production operations. This position is essential for maintaining the high quality and efficiency of bakery production processes.

Trainee Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities:

  • Supporting Manufacturing Manager to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, and packaging machinery.
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
  • Ensuring all equipment meets food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues in bakery production equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Assisting with the implementation of equipment upgrades and improvements.
  • Collaborating with production staff to minimise downtime during maintenance and conduct facilities maintenance.

Trainee Maintenance Technician, the person:

  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in mechanical maintenance and repair within food production environment (ideally industrial bakery equipment).
  • Basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems and programs.
  • Good understanding of IT.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
