Invincible Drain Care Ltd is a professional, independent drainage solutions provider operating across multiple UK sites. With a strong operational workforce and continued growth, the business places high importance on people, compliance, and positive employee relations. They are now seeking an experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function in a standalone capacity, supported by a HR Admin assistant and external HR consultancy where required.
This is a hands-on, HR Manager role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of HR across the business. You will work closely with directors and managers to provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice, covering everything from core HR administration through to complex employee relations matters. The role is well suited to someone confident operating autonomously, comfortable supporting a field-based workforce, and experienced in operational or construction-led environments.
HR Manager the role:- Act as the primary HR contact for Directors and managers, providing day-to-day advice and guidance
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, inductions, and exit processes
- Support performance management and capability processes
- Lead and manage employee relations matters from investigation through to appeal
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and legislative changes
- Conduct return-to-work interviews and support absence management
- Carry out pre-employment checks including DBS and driving licence verification
- Coordinate and maintain training records, including H&S training and CSCS card schemes
- Act as a point of contact for employee wellbeing matters, escalating where appropriate
- Liaise with clients to arrange security clearance checks for site access
- Maintain accurate HR records and personnel files
- Liaise with payroll on new starters, leavers, and ad-hoc payments or deductions
- Order company uniform and PPE
- Support wider business needs with additional reasonable administrative or operational tasks
- Significant experience across all aspects of HR within a standalone or senior HR role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER processes
- Confident managing a varied workload and making decisions independently
- Previous experience in construction, utilities, engineering, or a field-based workforce environment is advantageous
- Comfortable dealing with sensitive matters discreetly and professionally
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work effectively at all levels
- Proactive, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
- Competent using Microsoft Office and HR systems
