Our client, Wilton Carpets Factory, have dedicated themselves to crafting beautiful and durable wool carpets for a broad range of commercial environments without compromise. They are part of the fabric and heritage of the country, using the same site as 300 years ago when they started and continue to maintain relentless attention to the quality of what they produce.
To manage all raw material contracts and to ensure that they meet the required standards and are delivered on time, they are now looking for a Quality Control Manager to join their team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. You will also look after H&S and ISO within the factory as well as have the overall responsibility for production planning.
Quality Control Manager, the role:- QMS Systems: making sure Health and Safety legislation is complied with; managing ISO systems within factory; overlooking carpets technical and testing certificates; chair ISO and H&S meetings; recommending solutions to existing processes to reduce waste.
- Materials: purchase and help negotiate all raw material contracts; ensuring quality and standards of raw materials are correct; shade matching of yarn and production carpet; managing the distributions of supplies; monitoring inventory levels and access to the materials.
- Suppliers: working with the management to identify supply needs; researching potential vendors; liaise with all suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and overseeing tufting manufacturers on shade matching, quality, design etc.
- Production planning: making sure that all production is planned in line with raw material and resource availability.
- Previous experience in a similar role and technical background; full training within specific sector will be given.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles as well as material control.
- Pro-active and a team player with strong leadership skills and proven ability to develop others.
- Organised and natural problem solver with excellent communication skills.
- Efficient coordinator with detailed approach to work.
- Energetic and dynamic individual with can do attitude.
