Our client, Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd is an independent British company and specialist world leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of liquid filled, cast resin, and dry type transformers and transformer rectifiers. They also manufacture products for radiotherapy equipment used for the treatment of cancer all over the world.
They are now seeking an experienced HSQE Manager to join their busy team in Guildford, Surrey. You will ensure that their Integrated Management System including Health, Safety and Environmental best practice is in place and fully embedded and determine, that compliance with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice, company policies and procedures are adhered to.
HSQE Manager, the role:
- Leading the operation and promotion of the current management system policies and procedures (risk assessments, accident prevention, health initiatives and acknowledged personal responsibility)
- Managing environmental health, safety and well-being through systems, audit/inspection and the establishment of high standards
- Maintaining audit programme for Health & Safety, quality and environmental standards
- Working proactively with factory management and reporting on performance at review meetings
- Advising on matters related to the Environment and Health and Safety at work
- Undertaking environmental health and safety planning (setting of goals, agreeing priorities, establishing adequate systems for managing performance)
- Overseeing internal policies aligned with regulatory requirements
- Supporting operational teams on Project-specific health, safety, quality and environment issues
- Collaborating with staff to develop safe and healthy working relationships and providing competent advice across both safety and quality on an emergency and routine basis
- Organise and oversee comprehensive training programs for employees
- Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports
- Conducting incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes
HSQE Manager, the person:
- Experienced Quality Engineer/Manager
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are a must
- An external auditor who understands quality
- Organised and natural problem solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish good working relationships across departments
- Efficient coordinator with detailed approach to work
- Exceptional user of Microsoft Package
- Capable of multitasking, prioritising and working to tight deadlines
- Must be able to travel when required
- Previous experience of working on the factory shop floor would be desirable
