Our client, ABC Education is a trusted provider of high-quality tutoring and education services across the UK, working closely with schools, local authorities, parents, and tutors to deliver outstanding support to students. They pride themselves on their collaborative, student‑focused approach, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to thrive.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Operations Director to lead and scale our operational functions, ensuring excellence across service delivery, compliance, and financial management.

Role

  • Lead and develop the Operations Team to achieve collective and individual goals.
  • Work with Directors to turn company strategy into operational plans.
  • Oversee operational processes including referrals, tutor allocation, compliance, and safeguarding.
  • Monitor performance, implement reporting systems, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage operational budgets, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee debt management, cash control, and financial reporting.
  • Support business growth, including expansion into new regions and services.
  • Represent ABC Education at external meetings and forums, promoting company values.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory frameworks and safeguarding practices.
  • Identify risks and oversee contingency planning.

Person

  • Proven senior leadership experience in operations, ideally within education, alternative provision, or a similar service‑led sector.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting and performance reporting.
  • Track record of scaling teams and driving business growth.
  • Excellent organisational ability with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and safer recruitment.
  • Confident communicator, negotiator, and influencer with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Goal‑driven with a record of achieving business objectives.
