Our client, the University of Southampton Science Park, is the South of England’s Innovation Hub, offering a wide range of premium commercial offices, laboratories, and meeting and conferencing facilities.

We are therefore looking for bank work Catering Assistants to join the busy Fusion coffee shop team based in Chilworth, Hampshire. Fusion offers fresh, healthy and high-quality refreshments and hot and cold lunches, which are made to order throughout the day. You will be reporting to the Conferencing and Catering Manager and will be employed directly by The University of Southampton Science Park Ltd.

Catering Assistant, the role: (included but not limited to)

  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining the reputation of the Science Park
  • Assisting with preparation and service of food and beverages
  • Operational till duties (card payments)
  • Helping with deliveries and storage of stock, stock control and stock taking
  • Keeping high standard of cleanliness both front and back of the house (light and deep clean)
  • Ensuring kitchen hygiene and food safety standards are maintained to the highest level and legislative requirements
  • Adhering to Environmental Health and Statutory Fire and H&S Regulations as well as COSHH training
  • Assisting in all other duties as and when required (including assisting with events and preparing and delivering of Hospitality)
  • Continuous personal training and development

Catering Assistant, the person:

  • Catering experience is desired but full training will be given
  • Team player who keeps a positive and helpful attitude
  • Great communication and multitasking skills
  • Smart, professional, but friendly and approachable
  • High levels of personal hygiene

This is a bank worker role. The working hours are variable and will be between Monday to Friday, anytime from 7.00am to 5.00pm.
