Pure Engineering Group are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer with strong controls expertise and hands-on experience in AC systems, BACnet, and Modbus. The role involves commissioning, testing, and optimising building management and control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning and functional testing of control systems and associated AC/HVAC equipment
- Configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of BACnet and Modbus communications
- Verification of control strategies, sequences of operation, and system performance
- Integration of field devices, controllers, and BMS front ends
- Fault finding across software, controls, networks, and field devices
- Support site acceptance testing (SAT) and handover documentation
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients during commissioning phases
- Produce commissioning reports, test scripts, and as-built documentation
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer (controls / BMS / automation)
- Strong understanding of AC/HVAC systems
- Hands-on experience with BACnet and Modbus (RTU & TCP/IP)
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience with BMS platforms (e.g. Siemens, Trend, Honeywell, Schneider, Tridium, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working on live sites and during commissioning phases
Desirable
- Experience with integration to third-party systems
- Knowledge of IP networking and control panels
- Previous data centre, pharmaceutical, or large commercial project experience
- Relevant engineering or technical qualification
