Role: Part-time HR Business Partner, Immediate start
Salary: Dependant on experience
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Hybrid/Bristol – 2 days per week in the office
Role Overview
This is a hands‑on, part‑time HR role with a strong focus on day‑to‑day people operations, compliance and employee support. Strategic input and leadership advisory will form a secondary part of the role as the business continues to grow.
HR Administration & People Operations (Primary Focus)
- Manage day‑to‑day HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts and documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems and personnel files
- Prepare and issue employment contracts, variations and related correspondence
- Support recruitment administration, including interview coordination, offer letters and onboarding processes
- Manage absence tracking, holiday records and HR reporting
- Act as the first point of contact for general HR queries from employees and managers
- Ensure policies and processes are followed consistently across the business
Employee Relations & Case Support
- Support employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievance and absence cases
- Ensure processes are followed correctly and documentation is accurate
- Escalate complex or high‑risk matters where appropriate
- Support managers with clear, compliant guidance on people processes
- Maintain a strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
Policies, Compliance & Frameworks
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures and templates
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal processes
- Support audits, right‑to‑work checks and statutory requirements
- Ensure HR documentation is accurate, compliant and up to date
Manager & Employee Support
- Provide practical HR support to managers on day‑to‑day people matters
- Respond to employee queries in a timely and professional manner
- Support managers with consistent application of policies and procedures
- Help resolve people issues early through clear, pragmatic guidance
Strategic & Development Support (Secondary Focus)
- Provide input into HR strategy and people planning as required
- Support culture, engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Contribute to organisational development projects where appropriate
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiency
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in an HR Administrator, HR Officer, or HR Generalist role
- Strong understanding of UK employment legislation
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident handling confidential and sensitive information
- Practical, hands‑on and solutions‑focused
- Comfortable working independently in a part‑time role
