Responsibilities

The Data Centre Maintenance Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems to ensure high availability and reliability, following company policies and procedures.

  • Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment to ensure 100% uptime
  • Monitor and troubleshoot site equipment, respond to incidents, and support site support activities
  • Utilize operational systems such as BMS, PMS, CMS
  • Manage subcontractors and oversee PPM activities
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld
  • Manage power supplies and environmental services for critical systems
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and emergency protocols
  • Coordinate with site teams and communicate effectively with clients
  • Document work activities and perform risk assessments
  • Develop and implement operational procedures
  • Manage alarms and system data
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who:

Required qualifications include:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Engineering
  • AP12 or AP Authorised Person Training
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Desirable: IOSH – Working Safely

Experience

  • Troubleshooting complex issues and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of change management and system documentation
  • Experience with BMS, PPM/CAFM systems, and permit to work systems
  • Ability to interpret OEM technical documentation
  • Work methodically and analytically
  • Operate independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in customer-facing roles with technical problem-solving
  • Maintenance experience on pumps, HVAC, electrical systems, and associated equipment
