About Us
The Pure Group was founded to disrupt the market with our mission to help families rest easy by giving them the freedom to choose how to celebrate their life. We are now the UK’s leading provider of later-life and end-of-life planning services. FCA regulated, financially secure and continuing to grow, we’re investing in our people, technology and services to keep raising the standard. But our purpose remains simple: to support families with dignity, care and compassion when they need it most. Our values guide everything we do: Care Deeply. Take Accountability. Never Settle.
Job Purpose
The role of Site Manager is essential to hold ultimate operational, quality, and compliance accountability for the deceased care and private ambulance hub. Blending logistics coordination with the deeply sensitive requirements of deceased care, this role ensures a highly dignified service, seamless 24/7 transport operations, and absolute regulatory compliance.
You will need to demonstrate:
- Leadership and Culture: Lead, coach, and support the Deputy Site Manager to create and maintain a high-performing, compassionate and resilient working environment. Oversee recruitment, training and performance management for the operational team. Foster a culture of absolute dignity, respect and professionalism. Ensuring all staff treat the deceased and their families with the highest standard of care.
- Operational Oversight and Fleet Efficiency: Maintain high-level oversight of the daily scheduled and 24/7 reactive collection operations. Support the Deputy Site Manager to optimise the utilisation, maintenance and cleanliness of the fleet. Ensure robust contingency plans are in place for vehicle breakdowns, staff sickness and seasonal surges in operational demand.
- Compliance, Safety and Mortuary Standards: Serve as the designated 'Responsible Person' for the site, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety, infection control and sector-specific regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits of mortuary practices, tracking and cremation/ashes paperwork alongside the Mortuary assistants. Oversee the continuous training of staff in safe manual handling, dynamic risk assessments and clinical decontamination protocols.
- Resource Control and Local Stakeholder Management: Manage localised resource efficiency, including staff rotas, overtime authorisation, fuel card tracking and vehicle maintenance schedules. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders within the company.
Skills You’ll Need to Have:
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of management experience within fast-paced supply chain logistics, private ambulance operations, medical logistics or the funeral sector.
- Leadership Track Record: Proven experience managing multi-shift, 24/7 operations and managing supervisors or team leaders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Desirable understanding of health and safety regulations, infection control and deceased transport protocols.
Our Benefits:
- 30 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays – giving you more time to switch off and recharge
- Bupa Health Cash Plan to help with everyday healthcare costs
- Discounted gym membership and a Cycle to Work Scheme to support your health and wellbeing
- A comprehensive induction and access to our Learning and Development Academy to help you grow
- Enhanced family-friendly benefits to support you through life’s important moments
- 24/7 confidential support through our Employee Assistance Programme
- Life Assurance for added peace of mind
- A Company Pension, with a SMART Pension option
