We are supporting a well-regarded 30-bedded residential home in Cardiff that is looking to recruit a passionate and creative Activities Coordinator to join their friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of residents through meaningful and engaging activities.

Role Details

  • Location: Cardiff
  • Hours: Part‑Time – 22.5 hours per week (10:00am – 4:00pm)
  • Pay: From £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.00 per hour after successful completion of probation
  • Requirement: Alternative weekends required
  • Setting: Residential Home – Elderly Care

About the Role

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of engaging, person‑centred activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities. You will play a key role in promoting social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and a positive daily experience for residents within a warm and supportive care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and deliver daily activities for residents
  • Encourage participation and build meaningful relationships with residents
  • Adapt activities to suit individual needs and preferences
  • Work closely with care staff and management to support residents' wellbeing
  • Organise group events, celebrations, and one‑to‑one activities
  • Maintain records of activities and resident engagement

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator or in a similar role is desirable
  • A genuine passion for working with older people
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and patient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work alternative weekends
