YOUR MISSION

The Boutique Manager will lead the Clothing and Accessories division at our Audley House Boutique.

This role encompasses full responsibility for driving sales performance, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional client experience, all while upholding Purdey's brand values and adhering to company policies and standards.

The Manager will be instrumental in developing and implementing a retail strategy to achieve revenue and KPI targets, working closely with the Director of Sales.

As a key Brand Ambassador, they will represent Purdey to clients and within the local retail community.

Managing and motivating a high-performing team to consistently exceed business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Experience and Sales Support
  • Lead and motivate the team to consistently deliver an exceptional client experience characterized by deep product knowledge, refined customer service, and personalized engagement.
  • Identify and propose initiatives to attract new clients and enhance loyalty among returning clients, collaborating with the marketing team for execution.
  • Ensure the team fosters and maintains robust client relationships through proactive after-sales support and personal client relationship management.
  • Oversee client data capture and update in the CRM system to personalize future interactions and tailor services.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the entire client journey.
  • Ensure regular and effective training for the team on client service standards, product knowledge, and brand storytelling.
  • Store Standards and Visual Merchandising
  • Establish and maintain impeccable visual merchandising standards, providing clear guidelines to the in-store Visual Merchandiser for new product launches and overall store presentation.
  • Develop SOPs for store presentation in collaboration with the Visual Merchandiser and ensure consistent adherence by the team.
  • Seasonal recommendations to the boutique layout to enhance client experience and drive sales.
  • Sales and Financial Targets
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to establish annual sales targets, and KPIs.
  • Monitor daily sales targets and KPIs, implementing proactive strategies and coaching to motivate the team and achieve objectives.
  • Set individual sales goals and performance incentives for the team, fostering a culture of achievement.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching to ensure continuous improvement and success.
  • Read and react to weekly trade with actions to drive the business.
  • Manage the P&L for the store ensuring we keep costs in line with the budget.
  • Inventory Management
  • Oversee the development and implementation of SOPs for efficient stock intake, outbound, and storage.
  • Supervise the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily stockroom operations, including intake, storage, and replenishment.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy and integrity of regular stock count processes.
  • Team Management and Development
  • Conduct regular team meetings to set standards, communicate expectations, and ensure clarity on roles, responsibilities, targets, and goals.
  • Actively inform and engage the team on the wider Purdey business and activities.
  • Set team and individual objectives, identify development needs and provide feedback, coaching and training to drive performance and foster professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the Gun Sales team to align staffing plans and ensure seamless operations across the boutique.
  • Develop and implement an annual staff training plan to foster continuous development and enhance skill sets.
  • Security, Health & Safety, and Operations
  • Ensure full awareness and strict adherence to company and store security procedures by all team members.
  • Ensure the Operations Manager implements and maintains robust processes for stock protection.
  • Oversee daily cashing up procedures, store opening and closing, and secure key management.
  • The role requires flexibility to work across a Monday to Sunday schedule, with opening times and days varying based on business requirements.
  • KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Solid experience in managing retail team
  • Experience and excellent understanding of luxury retail business
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing retail team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of sales targets, KPIs, and cost management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients and team members.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level or above.
