The ideal candidate must have approximately 6-10 years of experience designing Outerwear either for a supplier or retail brand, ideally with experience in young high street accounts. The designer must be confident and able to work within a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with the Sales Director and the designers in China to create trend-led ranges, research global trends, and keep ahead of the competition. We are looking for passionate, driven designers to bring innovative ideas.
Responsibilities:- Presenting ranges to Directors and Buyers.
- The ability to identify current trends and shapes from catwalks to blog sites, comp shop trips, and translate into commercial product, as well as produce customer trend analysis presentation boards.
- A good knowledge of techniques, fabrics, and finishes.
- Ability to work within design briefs and understand buying sign-off requirements.
- Excellent and extensive knowledge and practical use of both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Excellent knowledge of print and ability to produce high-quality specification sheets for samples to be made in China and liaise with the China development office.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to adapt to situations and deadlines by keeping a level head, thinking outside the box, and being able to work independently as well as working well in a team.
- Experience designing Outerwear for a supplier or retail brand with approximately 6-10 years.
- Experience with young high street accounts preferred.
- Confident, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Ability to liaise with the China development office and produce print specifications for samples.
