Job Description
The ideal candidate must have approximately 8 years of experience designing tailoring, skirts, or trousers for a supplier or retail brand. Ideally, experience with young high‑street accounts. The designer must be confident and able to work within a fast‑paced environment.
You will work closely with the Sales Director and the designers in China to create trend‑led ranges, research global trends, and stay ahead of the competition. We are looking for passionate, driven designers to bring innovative ideas.
You may also be covering some girlswear product design as well as ladies.
Qualifications
- The ability to identify current trends and shapes from catwalks to blog sites, comp shop trips and translate them into commercial product and also produce customer trend analysis presentation boards.
- A good knowledge of techniques, fabrics, and finishes.
- Ability to work within design briefs and understand buying sign‑off requirements.
- Excellent and extensive knowledge and practical use of both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Excellent knowledge of print and able to produce high‑quality specification sheets for samples to be made in China and liaise with the China development office.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt to situations and deadlines by keeping a level head, thinking outside the box, and working independently as well as working well in a team.
