An opening has just arisen to join a small, expert legal team. Due to recent growth in their commercial contract portfolio, my client is seeking the following skills and abilities. The successful candidate must have knowledge of working in the public sector and hold a valid practising certificate.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor, sales, and partnership contracts, to protect the organisation's interests.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the business. This involves developing, implementing, and monitoring internal policies and procedures to ensure the company operates within legal and ethical boundaries.
- Corporate Governance: Advise the board of directors and senior management on legal matters related to corporate structure, governance principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Litigation Management: Manage and oversee legal disputes, regulatory inquiries, and any resulting litigation, often coordinating and managing external legal counsel and budgets when specialist expertise is required.
