PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Design Engineer to work in our Glasgow office. PUNCH Consulting Engineers is a dynamic and forward‑thinking civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects. With offices across the UK and Ireland, our team is committed to excellence in engineering and client service. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Design Engineer to join our growing structural team.
As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the structural design and analysis of a variety of building and civil engineering projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality design work, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Candidate Specification:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a design office environment.
- Ambitious, career focused and committed to achieving chartership status with ICE or IStructE.
- Ability to apply engineering principles & codes of practice to solve technical problems using a variety of structural materials including concrete, steel, masonry and timber.
- Significant base of IT skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Proven ability to effectively use structural design software such as CADS, Tekla, SCIA, STRAP, TEDDS, Fastrack AutoCAD, Revit or other design software.
- Good working knowledge of UK design codes and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process including NEC Contracts.
- Commitment to CPD and competence.
- A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
