The Spread Eagle is a traditional looking pub offering an exciting world of craft beers, fruity cocktails, and spirits to liven any occasion. Paired with our oozing burgers, moreish bar snacks and tasty menu you can enjoy every moment well into the night with great company. Hidden in the middle of Brentwood, our traditional pub has a quirky, opulent interior and eccentric décor, making it the perfect place to gather for a midweek drink at the bar or get the whole gang together to celebrate the weekend with signature cocktails and an indulgent feast in the courtyard.
The Spread Eagle has approximately 80 indoor covers in a single room bar, with discreet zoning to split diners from drinkers and expands to 180 external covers in the summer months with a strong rhythm of the week/month. The pub had a transformational investment in 2022, and we now look ahead to the next phase of growth with a new partner.
Brentwood is a town in Essex, England, known for its affluence and location in the London commuter belt. It is situated about twenty miles northeast of Charing Cross and near the M25 motorway. Brentwood has a built-up area population of around 55,000. The town is known for its shopping area along the High Street and residential areas surrounded by countryside and woodland.
Private accommodation comes with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living space and is in good condition.
The Challenge
A rare opportunity to take on this beautifully invested traditional pub as we look for a creative operator to deliver growth and launch our prime city centre pub. There are real opportunities here to capitalise on an established city business and cement the pub's place in the social life of local guests and visitors to the area and a best market garden and event space.
You’ll be an enthusiastic operator who feels comfortable front and centre greeting your guests and have some experience introducing and growing a simple city menu. Your focus will be on delivering 5-star quality service and ratings. The pub needs a savvy marketeer, maximizing social media channels to reach a new audience. You will ensure that you are the go-to venue for locals, office workers and shoppers in the area, and the only place for business meetings and lunches. The pub also needs an operator who knows what online guests look for when making bookings, building strong Trip Advisor, Google, and social media presence.
The Person
Good working knowledge of Brentwood and/or local Essex commuter towns, ideally an operator that can work both FOH and Kitchen, although food is not huge and a simple menu, we need to establish the food business to continue growth. Would suit an experienced GM looking for their first pub on their own with a big personality.
The Partnership Fixed
Ready to run your own business, manage your own team and define your own wage structure? Love working closely with an Operations Manager to build an incredible pub legacy with uncompromising standards and stand out guest experience? Then the Punch Managed Partnership is the perfect option for you.
Alongside tonnes of day to day support and a brilliant framework to grow the business, we provide an uncapped cut of top line turnover to pay yourself and your team in exchange for your Management Company providing the management services at the pub. It’s your structure to own, subject to management company costs including, but not limited to, staff costs, minor repairs and maintenance at the pub, security/door staff and insurance. We understand how important it is for a Management Company to completely own their own team.
In our Partnerships, we love pub obsessed entrepreneurs that help us lead the industry. We love to partner with people that help us create pub legacies that stand the test of time and become the hub of their community. We get that every pub has its own distinct character, so your Operations Manager will work closely with you to understand the true identity of your business, we can then help support you amplifying this, it’s a partnership after all!
