Overview
Nursery Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong childcare and organisational skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role requires someone who can create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading staff, maintaining high standards of care, and fostering positive relationships with children, staff and parents. Starting Salary: £35,000-£40,000pa + paid holidays and excellent further training and career progression opportunities.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and educational programmes
- Develop and implement curriculum plans that promote early childhood development and learning
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to maintain a skilled and motivated team
- Build strong relationships with parents, providing updates on children\\\’s progress and addressing any concerns
- Ensure health and safety policies are strictly followed to provide a secure environment for children and staff
- Organise activities that support children\\\’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Maintain accurate records related to children\\\’s attendance, progress, and staff schedules
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery services and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven management or deputy managerial, room leader experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare roles
- Knowledge of nursery regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE Level 3 in Childcare or BA degree in early years education
