The predicted salary is between 28000 - 35000 £ per year.

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to support the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke engineered pumping equipment. Working closely with Production, Engineering and Project Management, you will ensure that quality requirements are achieved throughout the manufacturing process and that all customer and project documentation is delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Goods Inward Inspection of purchased materials, fabricated assemblies, castings and machined components.
  • Support and oversee in-process manufacturing quality control activities across fabrication, machining, assembly and testing operations.
  • Review material certification, supplier documentation and inspection records to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate welding quality activities, including weld inspections, NDT requirements and documentation control.
  • Create, manage and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in line with customer specifications and project requirements.
  • Ensure all quality documentation, manufacturing record books (MRBs), inspection reports, certificates and test records are completed and compiled accurately.
  • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, inspectors and certification bodies on quality-related matters.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, reduce rework and enhance manufacturing performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Control role within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT processes and fabrication quality requirements.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience managing quality documentation packages and customer inspection requirements.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience within pump manufacturing, rotating equipment, pressure equipment or engineered-to-order products would be advantageous.
