Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Technician to support the repair, servicing, and maintenance of pumps and electrical panels. This role involves both depot-based and on-site work, including the installation and connection of electrical panels and pumps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Panel Maintenance: Repair, service, maintain, and test electrical control panels used with pumping systems.
  • Installation Work: Install and connect electrical panels and pumps within the depot and at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve faults in pumps and electrical panels efficiently, minimising downtime.
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct electrical tests and calibrate systems to ensure they meet performance and current safety electrical requirements.
  • Commissioning: Have the ability to commission an electrical system to meet client requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, servicing, and electrical installations, updating logs and documentation as required.
  • Customer Interaction: Liaise with clients on-site to ensure installations and repairs meet their needs and expectations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in the pump or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and fault diagnosis.
  • The capability to understand relay logic and analyse the clients’ control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with submersible pumps, particularly brands like Flygt, Tsurumi, and Grundfos.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical or vocational qualifications in electrical installations or a related field.
  • Experience working in the pump industry or a similar technical environment.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety standards in industrial or construction settings.
  • Knowledge of AMP8 requirements and water industry standards.
  • Experience in working with variable speed drives.
  • 2391 Inspection and testing or equivalent qualification.
