To install, maintain, repair and fault find on various pumping equipment including associated systems within industrial, commercial and domestic environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, reactive and installation work in line with current standards, ensuring first class quality of work.
  • Perform full test and inspection of all works ensuring equipment is fully functional as required.
  • Operate using safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day communication with line manager and colleagues to ensure workload and works are understood and delivered effectively.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other employees and clients as and when required.
  • Operate effectively and in a timely manner the electronic job card – update and close off process.
  • Take part in the out of hours on-call rota.
  • Ensure all accidents or incidents (near misses) are reported to line manager as soon as practical.
  • Liaise with clients on site, providing work updates and technical support as and when required.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source parts and equipment as and when required.

Skills & Requirements

  • City & Guilds or similar in Electrical – Mechanical discipline.
  • A minimum of at least 3 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.
  • Experience with booster sets, sump sets, thermal expansion, sewage – drainage stations, HVAC and associated pumping equipment, grease removal systems.

  • Good communication and organisational skills, able to work in a methodical and calm manner.
  • Able to work under pressure and to specified deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy and pay attention to detail required during works.
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone without constant supervision, or with an apprentice as required.
  • Ability to use own initiative, but also know when matters need to be referred to a supervisor or line manager for support and/or advice.
  • Able to work under pressure to achieve required client service level.
  • Presentable and able to undertake duties in line with management’s recommendations, instructions, company policy, and in accordance with client requirements.
