Your Mission
- Take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, including capital expenditure tracking and depreciation accounting.
- Support lease accounting processes and associated reporting requirements.
- Perform detailed month-end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reviews.
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and supporting reconciliations.
- Support Office for National Statistics (ONS) and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with internal policies.
- Support the company's transition to SAP, including testing, data validation and reconciliation activities.
- Assist with master data governance and financial data quality reviews.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and process validation.
- Support the finance team during SAP go-live and post-implementation stabilisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting through system enhancements.
Your Talent
- Part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- 3+ years' experience within financial accounting, accounting practice or industry.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and double-entry accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, with exposure to IFRS desirable.
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
- Experience with VAT returns and regulatory reporting.
- Previous ERP implementation, migration or SAP experience would be highly advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working in a changing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
This role is initially focused on financial accounting and supporting the SAP implementation programme, there will be opportunities to broaden into management accounting, budgeting and business partnering activities as the finance function evolves following SAP go-live.
