Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This role will solely focus on AR duties, with additional AP ad-hoc duties when required. The ideal candidate will support the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with established policies.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage Accounts Receivable: Generate, send, and monitor customer invoices while ensuring all accounts are accurately maintained.
  2. Customer Account Reconciliation: Regularly review accounts to identify discrepancies and work closely with customers to resolve billing issues.
  3. Payment Collection: Implement effective collection strategies and follow up with clients to ensure timely payments.
  4. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular AR reports, track payment trends, and support the finance team with cash flow forecasting.
  5. Customer Communication: Act as the main point of contact for AR-related inquiries, demonstrating excellent customer service and professionalism through email and telephone.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and propose improvements in the AR process to enhance efficiency and reduce overdue accounts.
  7. Collaboration with Finance Team: Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks, including assistance with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Skills

  1. Strong numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
  2. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting and CRM software is advantageous.
  4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration within the team.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  6. Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

Experience:

  1. Accounts Receivable/ payable, credit control or finance assistant role is preferable.
