Job Title:Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Adult Neuro)

Band:6

Contract Type:One year fixed full-time (TBC) post, 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility to extend after one year (to be confirmed)

Accountable To: Specialist Rehabilitation Services Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and support to adults with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication disorders in adults with neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications:Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience:Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with significant experience in adult neuro rehabilitation.
  • Skills:Excellent communication, assessment, and therapeutic skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge:Strong understanding of neurological conditions and their impact on communication and swallowing.
