We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to work full-time for our NHS client based in Southampton, Hampshire. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start.

What will your responsibilities be?

This role involves delivering specialist psychiatric care across forensic inpatient, low secure, and community mental health team (CMHT) settings. You will be responsible for conducting detailed assessments, formulating and overseeing treatment plans, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe and effective mental health services. The postholder must hold Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status and will be expected to participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, documentation, and service development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• GMC registration (essential)
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status (essential)
• Experience in forensic psychiatry, including low secure, inpatient, and CMHT settings
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
