We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS client based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract.

What will your responsibilities be?

The Consultant will provide expert psychiatric care across the hospital, including assessments for patients in A&E, medical, surgical, and psychiatric wards. Key duties include attending ward reviews, MDT meetings, and CPA meetings, as well as managing referrals and follow-up investigations. The consultant will also contribute to patient care by ensuring the appropriate prescribing and documentation through electronic systems, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to support discharge planning and continuity of care. The role requires collaboration with medical and nursing staff, offering crisis intervention when needed, and providing guidance to patients and families. The consultant will also supervise junior staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • You must have a full GMC licence to practice
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
  • Section 12/RC approval is essential
  • Approved clinician status is desired but not essential.
