We are seeking an experienced Locum Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join the team at the Nightingale Elective Orthopaedic Hospital in Exeter. This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay rate of £25 per hour, with the contract running until February 2025. The role involves working regular shifts, including evenings, on Elective Orthopaedic wards. The ideal candidate will have experience in NHS orthopaedics and be available to start immediately. Accommodation may be available on the acute hospital site, with transport options provided for easy access.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality physiotherapy services to patients in the Elective Orthopaedic wards, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery following elective surgeries.
  • Assess, plan, and deliver physiotherapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs, including post-surgical rehabilitation, mobility support, and strength building.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure timely discharge.
  • Manage a varied caseload, document patient progress, and make any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Deliver continuity of care for patients during regular shifts that may extend up to 8pm.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HCPC Registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Proven experience in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, particularly in Elective Orthopaedic settings.
  • Experience working within the NHS (preferred).
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings up until 8pm.
