We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Community Physiotherapist to join our team. This role involves working with elderly patients and those at risk of falls, providing high-quality physiotherapy services within a community rehabilitation setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and enhancing their quality of life through effective therapeutic interventions and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing, planning, and implementing physiotherapy treatment programs for elderly patients and those at risk of falls.
  • Working in a community rehabilitation setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Supervising and appraising junior physiotherapy colleagues, assistants, and students.
  • Teaching other MDT team members about physiotherapy and falls prevention.
  • Staying up-to-date with professional practice and new research, ensuring the highest standards of care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of working in elderly care and falls prevention.
  • Experience of working in a community rehabilitation setting post-registration.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting post-registration.
  • Experience in supervising and appraising junior PT colleagues.
  • Experience of supervising assistants and physiotherapy students.
  • Experience of teaching other MDT team members in relation to physiotherapy and falls-related topics.
  • Well-established knowledge of relevant assessment tools.
  • Well-established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Enhanced knowledge and understanding of national guidelines for falls prevention, NSFs for Older People and Long Term Conditions, and relevant NICE guidelines.
  • Understanding of the importance of involving service users in their treatment and service development.
  • Up-to-date with professional practice and new research.
  • Sound knowledge of neurology and anatomy.
  • Negotiation and enhanced problem-solving skills.
  • Established analytical, clinical reasoning, and reflection skills.
  • Well-established knowledge of a range of standardized and functional assessment tools relevant to the client group.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) for writing reports, emails, and using RiO (or other computerized client database systems).
  • Sound knowledge of standards of record keeping.
  • Well-established knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the client group.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
