An exciting new opportunity has been made available for a Band 8a Clinical/ Neuropsychologist to join our esteemed client’s dynamic team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract. This vacancy offers competitive rates.
What will your responsibilities be?
The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service. They will be undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions. They will be working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods. They will be in charge of formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practice. They will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications and Experiences:
- Be HCPC registered.
- Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications.
- Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division.
- Understand evidence-based psychological practice.
- Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical/neuro.
- Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits.
- Have previous experience of conducting research and project working.
