We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Community Pediatric Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Wandsworth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively within a multi-agency Advisory team under the direction of the Head of Service. You will provide support to education settings to best meet the needs of children and young people with Autism (ASC) and Social Communication Disorder (SCD). Your role will be crucial in delivering high-quality training to professionals and families, overseeing intervention programs, and supporting multi-therapy assistants and a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist.

What will your responsibilities be:

  • Support Headteachers and Early Years Managers to evaluate and develop whole setting provision for pupils with ASC/SCD.
  • Deliver high-quality specialist training to schools, settings, parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals on topics such as PECS, Attention Autism, and Social Skills.
  • Contribute to a Quality Assurance program.
  • Provide advanced assessment and treatment to children with Autism and Social Communication Disorder.
  • Oversee and provide advice and support to multi-therapy assistants and a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Deliver intervention programs and group work/support for children at home and in school/Early Years settings.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC.
  • Extensive knowledge of Autism Spectrum and its impact on communication development and function.
  • In-depth knowledge of appropriate assessment and therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group (e.g., PECS).
  • Extensive knowledge of principles of effective working with families and application to practice.
  • Significant experience in the assessment and intervention of children with Autism.
  • Extensive experience in operational caseload management for children with ASC.
