Position: Band 6 MultidisciplinaryBiochemistry Biomedical Scientist Banding: 6 Location: Yorkshire Rate: £28.00 – £30.00 per hour Working hours: 07:00 – 17:30, 11:00 – 21:30 and 21:20 – 07:25 Duration: On going The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Multidisciplinary Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist to work in a busy hospital in Yorkshire. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service. This will be a temporary contract with a rate of £28.00 – £30.00 per hour. What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role? You will perform sample analysis, including routine and specialized tests on blood samples such as Full Blood Count, Blood Grouping, and Coagulation studies. You will analyze and interpret test results, identifying abnormalities, and reporting findings to the requesting clinician. You will conduct quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting. You will communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to explain procedures and provide test results. You will adhere to laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. You will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and support junior staff and trainees. You will participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the development of new testing methodologies. You will engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with advancements in blood sciences and laboratory technology. Essential Requirements: HCPC registered. UK NHS or private sector Haematology laboratory experience. Competent in using pathology computer systems. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work methodically, under pressure, and adapt to changing demands appropriately. Must be multi-disciplinary and trained in all of the following areas: Haematology, Coagulation, Transfusion and Chemistry Will work part of the 24/7 Rota and be based at Bassetlaw Used Sysmex XN, ACL TOP, Biorad IH and Abbott Alinity Why work with Pulse?
