The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Immunocytochemistry to work in a busy lab in Southeast London. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory's cellular histology service. Suitable histology biomedical scientist that can do proficient microtomy.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

  • Perform histological tests on tissue samples, including processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, to prepare them for microscopic examination.
  • Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions.
  • Analyze and interpret histological slides, providing accurate and timely reports to pathologists and clinicians.
  • Assist in the diagnosis of diseases by identifying cellular abnormalities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed, including patient information, test results, and quality control data.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols to minimize risks to yourself and others.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow biosafety guidelines.
