The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Virology to work in a busy NHS hospital in Bloomsbury. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s Microbiology service. This is a temporary position; you will be working core hours with a very competitive rate of £24.00 – £30.00 P/H. You must be available to start as soon as possible.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

  • As a Biomedical Scientist in Virology, you will use PCR and other molecular techniques to identify significant pathogens.
  • You will also support the senior biomedical scientists in delivering the service and provide guidance to junior members of staff.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

  • HCPC registration
  • NHS laboratory experience at a Band 6 level
  • Experience using Qiagen Qiasymphony and Hamilton STAR extraction platforms and ABI Fast 7500 and QuantStudio 5 RT-PCR machines
  • Experience in molecular virology
