We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Paediatric Mainstream Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Wood End Clinic in Hayes, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services within allocated mainstream schools. This role involves working with children and young people presenting with a variety of communication needs, including autism, speech sound disorders, developmental language disorder, stammering, and selective mutism.

What your responsibilities will be for this Speech and Language Therapy role?

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to children and young people with diverse communication needs, both in one-to-one and group settings.
  • Train and support school staff to deliver follow-up interventions, which includes modelling therapy sessions and coaching staff during these sessions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, including statutory assessment reports and annual review reports, and create detailed care plans for the children on your caseload.
  • Collaborate closely with school SENCOs and maintain regular communication with parents or carers to ensure cohesive support for each child’s needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as necessary to meet the needs of the students effectively.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Experience working with children and young people in mainstream school settings
  • Proven ability to deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and carers
