We are seeking a committed and skilled Locum Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist to join our team based in Crewe. This role involves providing speech and language therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people in mainstream school settings, particularly for those who have speech and language therapy needs identified in their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP).

As a Band 6/7 Locum Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist you will deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people with identified needs on their EHCPs. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing tailored intervention plans, and evaluating progress to ensure effective outcomes.

As the role involves working in various school settings, you will need to travel to different locations, so a valid driving license is essential. Your duties will include collaborating with an interdisciplinary team (MDT), maintaining effective communication with parents, carers, and educational staff, and ensuring that therapy aligns with the broader goals of the EHCP.

While prior experience in school settings is advantageous, it is not mandatory. However, you should be familiar with the EHCP/SEND process and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in paediatric speech and language therapy, ideally within school settings
  • Knowledge and experience of the EHCP/SEND process
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel between school settings
