We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6/7 Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized speech and language therapy services to adult inpatients, particularly those with acute stroke conditions. Responsibilities:
- Providing specialist speech and language therapy services to adult inpatients, focusing on those with acute stroke conditions.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to address communication and swallowing disorders.
- Competent in managing dysphagia; for Band 7 positions, competencies in tracheostomy and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) are required.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintaining accurate patient records, participating in clinical audits, and contributing to the development of speech and language therapy services.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience in providing speech and language therapy services to adults, particularly in acute settings.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for dysphagia and other communication disorders.
- For Band 7 applicants: Competencies in tracheostomy and FEES.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
