We are currently seeking an Associate Practitioner in Histology to join our client’s team in Stoke-on-Trent on a short-term contract with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the diagnostic process by preparing and processing tissue samples with precision and care.
- Assist in the production of high-quality slides for examination, performing routine laboratory procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Work closely with Biomedical Scientists, supporting them with daily tasks, maintaining laboratory equipment, and contributing to the smooth operation of the histology service.
- Deliver timely and accurate results with attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
- Cut blocks of 25-30/hr ideally.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant qualification in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- HCPC registration or working towards is desirable.
- Previous experience working in a histology laboratory or similar healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of histology techniques, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including microtomes, embedding stations, and tissue processors.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and infection control standards in a laboratory setting.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in sample processing.
